American Health Data Institute is currently seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Full Time Health Coach for PHMP (Proactive Health Management Plan).  Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-9:00pm. Individual schedules will be set within these hours, with emphasis placed on the hours of 12:00pm-9:00pm  This position may become a work from home position.  However, all training requirements must be satisfactorily completed from our Indianapolis, IN 46250 location or via virtual training before transitioning to work from home. 

Position Summary:  The Bilingual Full Time Health Coach provides support to engage, educate, and influence members in decisions related to behavioral changes that improve and/or maintain optimal health status. The Bilingual Full Time Health Coach also counsels members to assist them in finding new ways to inspire healthier habits, and to achieve positive health related outcomes.


  • Provide health/wellness coaching or counseling through telephonic communication utilizing assessment, planning, and implementation skills to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the member's health status, lifestyle risks and health-related needs.
  • Utilize assessment techniques to determine member's level of health literacy, technology capabilities and access.  
  • Provide up-to-date healthcare information regarding general disease concepts, nutrition, preventative measures etc. to help facilitate the member's understanding of his/her health status.
  • Provide personal and individualized attention to members including helping the members to set short and long-term goals, as well as identify barriers and readiness to change using motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Encourage members to actively and knowledgeably participate in healthcare and wellness decision-making and self-management.
  • Inform members of incentives tied to participation and have ability to answer or direct members for help regarding benefit questions relative to the Proactive Health Management Plan.  
  • Enter timely and accurate documentation/data into the database necessary to communicate member needs, and to ensure complete documentation of phone calls.
  • Meet on a regular basis with other Health Coaches, attend team meetings as coordinated by management, for information sharing and continuing education activities.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.


  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required
  • Bachelor degree in psychology, health promotion, nutrition, exercise physiology, health education, counseling, nursing or other health related field preferred. Master's Degree in Public Health, Exercise Science, Social Work, or Nutrition a plus. 
  • Health Coach Certification (CHES/MCHES) preferred, 2 - 5 years health/wellness coaching experience required and certification from an accredited, professional wellness coach training program preferred.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing, active listening skills and other evidence-based coaching techniques preferred. Polished communication skills both oral & written. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, pre-postnatal care, stress reduction and chronic conditions.
  • Good data entry and basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Able to be flexible, well organized and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a proficient and timely manner in order to meet production expectations, while maintaining quality in both communications with members and documentation.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality
