Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant Overview: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse on our Mobile Clinic with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice and act as translator between Spanish-speaking patients and medical staff. Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies, room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload.
  • Greet patients and act as translator for Spanish-speaking individuals, communicating necessary medical information from the medical staff accurately and completely.
  • Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection/phlebotomy, documentation of care using the EMR system.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols.
  • Process referrals and medication refills.
  • Maintain professional, positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
  • Two plus years of experience in a Certified Medical Assistant position, working with two or more providers.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Knowledge of front office processes such as check-in/check-out and billing.
  • Bilingual: Spanish fluency.
